Me and my partner in crime Emil took a trip to Jag this morning early.
The air was so calm but a low ground speed going there.

Now then we met up with a baloon in the same airspace but no radio comms what is the law, surely they must also broadcast.
Must say it was lovely to look at so close.

Now one on the ground and we thought we could grab a breakfast or some coffee at least.

Ok so next time or tell us what to do to get your attention.
Going back nice tail wind and in the bantam 80 knts grounspeed that made the trip very short.

Also went up this morning but had to turn around after half an hour because of rain.

I thought it was mandatory for a radio and comms but have heard since that it not for VFR flights for Microlight or any other NTCA flying in class G airspace, under 1500AGL. :?:

Blunderboy, I understood it is below 1000ft AGL that you do not need a radio. I might be wrong!

Anyone that can quote a legal doc?

I use it at all times anyway but have also been up and noticed that balloon guys are not transmitting. At least they pretty easy to see and don't suddenly appear like bats out of hell doing 500mph

hi all

i agree with Thunderboy if you cant spot the baloon dont fly..... it is HUGE and pretty easy to see in the sky...

and be a gentelman and a good airman and dont fly arounf it or to close to it..i guess to the pilot and pax it must not feel to great to let the beloon go into your prop wash

As far as I know a balloon will have right of way as well, since it is not powered. However, they should be on radio
