Cleaning a trike wing HELP plz

Postby Kalahari pilot » Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:08 am

Hi all.

I recently bought a trike with only 136h on but the hanger got some flying activity on the inside for quite some time and the owner didnt do anything about it.

So an owl made the trike his dropzone for all the mice and rats he ate. (**)

How am I going to get the wing clean?

We took the wing of and layed it on the ground.
I took a hosepipe and I soaked it good to soften all of the white and brown stuff that got deposited.

After that I used sunlight liquid and a brush.. it worked!!!!! (^^)

But all of the brown stripes stayed put...

Any help with that? What other chemicals can be used to clean those brown stains?

Thanks for your advice. vhpy

1. No high pressure washer. If you MUST use one use it on the soft spray setting only.
2. Use tent cleaner. PH natural. Most tent cleaners has an anti mould build into them.
3. I like to use a broom with a soft brush, to get to those very hard to reach areas.
4. Once soaped and scrubbed. Rinse properly and dry with soft cloth.
5. Once dry, I like to apply Nikki Wax. (http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/products/pr ... abricid=-1)

As all of us know, the sun is what kills your sail. So apply this generously to your freshly washed and dried sail. I am sure it will greatly improve the life time of your sail dramatically. I have been using it for years. Apply once a year.

The above always worked for me.
