I miss the old microlighters banter. WhatsApp is a closed group. It has its place but can't compare.

Would be great if anything microlight related be put on the forum
This forum used to be sooo busy when I started flying
I have Microlighters saved as my home page, just because I love it
Would be great to get the GEES back on the forum
Kom nou manne, bring die GEES terug, vertel ons al julle stories...we don't judge

Agree Freddie....WhatsApp pretty much killed this forum and although it is very useful for "instant comms"...it severely lacks any form of "history"? With WhatsApp, after a week any and all posts are lost in cyberspace....never to be seen again?
Here things were so much better in that respect?
This forum at least allowed people to "go back"....and "reminisce" on past topics?
The good the bad and the ugly! Lol
The Tailwinds had the longest thread on here last time I checked....not a single post in months. Even the Facebook page has proved to be a waste of time...
Isnt it ironic that the more "interconnected" we are on one hand...the more polarized and isolated we become on the other?
Hells bells....nee foktog take me back to the 80's...
I miss the blissful ignorance of having no phone....the glory days of Guns n Roses...and I really miss my BMX!

I still check in now and then too.
Avcom is more active, but activity there has dwindled too.
I remember the days when George Brink (RV4ker) spent all day, on this site, every day!
He was almost always the first to reply to a new topic with meaningful insight. The day his accident was reported here, I knew straight away who the pilot was, because he didn't respond. We were all devastated.

It was great competing against you and Piet. Something I'll never forget.
I agree completely with your sentiments. I will endeavour to post more about our adventures. I will also try and get more of our WhatsApp group to chat on microlighters. Not sure how that will go down but I'll try non the less.
