Streamline Strut Fairings

Postby salem » Fri Aug 11, 2017 12:25 pm

Is there any company in South Africa that supplies plasic or aluminium streamline wing strut fairings. I'd like to install these on a Challenger.

Not sure if it will fit, but the Solo wings trike profile tube might work.

Not sure if you'd be interested but I could make fibreglass ones up for you? I do composite work full time and work with carbon fibre or fibreglass.

Kind regards

I'm going to be stripping down a brand new Challenger II LSS (Light Sport Special XS 65, Serial No: Serial No: CH2-12016-LSS-0116) built airframe to dispose of as well as a Rotax 618 motor for spares, as there doesn't seem to be a market for it as a complete unit due to registration hassles.
It is consists of:
• Airframe (Brand new),
• Rotax 618 Motor - 73.8 HP/55KW (Serial No: 4254477 - Reconditioned by Flo Momberg @ Centurion Flight Centre),
• MGL Avionics Stratomaster Series Ultra Horizon XL EFIS,
• Sigtronics S-40 Headsets x 2,
• Intercom
• 3 Blade Warp Drive Prop with Standard Hub (C16027: 60” Left),
• Composite wing leading edges,
• Wing tanks,
• Hydraulic operated disc brakes
• Faired leg, wing struts & wheel spats.

So anyone interested in the bits & pieces can contact me @ (072) 643-5828 or vaughn@worldofworkwear.co.za & I'll send you some pictures & details
PS. If anyone is interested in the complete package feel free to make me an offer.

Make them out of sheet aly, fold over sand degrease and glue and clamp, using 25X5 angle iron and LOTS of clamps and vice grips. Not only does it look good, it ads speed!
