Hmmmmmmmmmm the Magni
Local is lekker but the Sycamore seems to have earned its self a bad reputation for both safety and being over weight. I think the jury is still out on the RAF.
(There is a very nice trike in the for sale section. Personaly I would keep it and buy a 3-axis)

Go fly them yourself. Hear say is mudder of all F...ups. Some of the bad raps are often created by hear say from folks who don't know arse from elbow. Know nothing about the Sycamore, but have heard strong arguments both for and against the RAF. GO FLY IT..

'n Mens dink later in sirkels.
As toe kajuit vir jou so belanrik is, kry dan eerder 'n vliegtuig.
Sterkte

The Sycamore

The Sycamore has never had a safety issue - the incident that you are refering to was as a result of rotor abuse (by CAA investigation). The aircraft was taxied over a long distance of very rough terrain. This is not good for any rotors.
It is however a heavier aircraft than some of the gyros on the market but along with that comes the built in safety. I have heard of a pilot putting a Sycamore into the ground a 65mph and walking away with a sprained ancle- how may aircraft can make that claim. The issue of weight has been overcome by fitting a 33 ft alluminium rotor which is lighter than composite and provides great lift.
