Why we tie down aircraft

Actually, if you look carefully, the aircraft was tied down. You can see the tie downs more clearly just before they snap.

This is an interesting one, as the aircraft took off because it was tied down. If it wasn't tied down, there may well have been less damage. But this was an extreme case. No light aircraft stands a real chance in winds like that.

Agreed, looking closely one can make out what looks like white ropes. The more you know hey. Thinking about it, I have seen many hangers I don't think would make it through such winds, let alone the aircraft inside.

that elevator is tided back.
I have seen this before and lirent from it
when you tie your plane down make sure the elevator is neutral or down.
