AERODEN AIRFIELD - NOW OPEN AGAIN!

Postby John.com » Wed Dec 03, 2014 7:17 am

Please note that Aeroden airfield (approx. 7nm west of Hartbeespoort Dam wall, on the north side of the northern ridge) is closed until further notice.

The warning balls indicating the presence of high tension cables on the northern end of the runway were blown down in a storm three weeks ago and will be replaced shortly.

There was a report yesterday (Tue 2/12/14) of a Cherokee hitting the cables with its tail section on landing, causing sparks. The aircraft then immediately took off again.

So, if you are a Cherokee pilot who flew into and out of Aeroden yesterday please check your aircraft for damage.
