Yes to be exact at 06h36 this morning after flying a few hours with ZU - COX , and ZU- CIA , after surgery twice to my left femur after a fall , and a operation to my right shoulder and a serious back operation a few months ago ZU - CSB took to the sky with only one soul on board . Thanks to Oom Mich for his patience with the Jabbies , and Mark Wheeler for his excellent training skills and Shaun for his assistance I eventually went solo this morning.
Yes I felt like one of our trike students suddenly flying on your own for the first time . I will never forget my first solo with Braam Hechter and his 582 Aquilla when I went up on my own . After many training hours it was once again one of the best feelings to do it again, this in A Cheetah with a cross wind gusting between 15 and 27 miles per hour . Yes the old girl, Cheetah nr 2 performed as expected , gracefully to the sky we went , with the od gust and turbulence , she just went on , the downwind leg flashed past like some forgotten dream and suddenly it was time to " roost " , check flaps , fuel pump on, line up for the runway , check airspeed , right rudder , too much check left rudder, and hold it , hold on and the sudden nudge as the tyres touché down , yes we were back on mother earth again ,whow , what a feeling !
