Forum back up but posts not restored yet

Postby Morph » Wed Jul 19, 2006 10:56 am

Hi all,

we are going to try to restore all the lost posts from last week. The board will go down sometime this afternoon and will be down for about 1 hour

Please be patient, do not adjust your monitor. We will be back

Hey guys, I'll be off to Teazers this afternoon, as it's the second best entertainment I can get after the forum.

(Alternatively I'll study fro my last 2 comm exams - and do prep for first night rating lesson tonight    )

A restore to last week or a merge (so we do not loose this weeks)?

hand-cuff him to the tubing - that way he won't try to climb out.

We are first going to do a backup of the forum at some point this afternoon. Then stop the forum and attempt to merge the lost posts with those existing. If it works we'll test it and bring it live. If it fails we'll carry on with it as is and accept that we have lost last weeks posts.

We are back up again. So far not managed to restore the lost posts. We are back on the database with the missing posts for the moment

We are now running a second database in parallel offline which we will try to repair. Once this is up we are happy that it is fixed we will swop over to the repaired database.

Yes Morph

Thanks for all the hard work on the Database. =D*

Although a loss of a couple of posts will not be the death of the forum i am sure.

It is this kind of dedication that makes this forum so special. There are people working behind the scenes and do so selfishly.

Thanks to Morph and Demon and all others who help to keep this forum running.

This is turning out to be a moerse job. I have suggested to Stewart at Ezhost to not spend any more time on it, unless he really wants to. The only real post that folks seem to be concerened about was the filter post, so maybe John Young can start that one again
