EXTREME Microlighting - Any takers?

Came across some shocking pics. I often wondered how manoeuvrable trikes were! One interesting quote

Any one watch "I should'nt be alive" on Discovery Channel 2 Saturday's ago?
Documentary of a game ranger than pranged a 3 axis and survived out in the bush with 2 broken legs + pelvis.
Anyhow, stunt pilot re-inacting the stall and low level spiral in a X-Air was none other than Andy Kasparson. Poor Andy missed the program and his moment of fame - Thank goodness for PVR, I just need to figure out how to put it onto video for him now.

It seems to be well thought out in that they spend weeks and months plotting the course which varies between 50 and 250 miles. On the extreme ones they take a modified Jeep and a nice Hummer!
The idea is to fly as low as possible and have the most breath taking scenery. In one course of 200 miles they say at any point a stash (food, water) and basic shelter is 3-6 miles away. They've also bought land to have airstrips along the way.
Looks and sounds awesome. They're also very elitest in that not just anyone can fly and they often have 5mph winds go to 50mph and still land!! They enjoy thermals.
It's nice when you got money like they do...
There's level 1-5 and vary according to height and extremety of turns. Funny how all 5 sites I found flew Air Creation

"Aero-trekking" and "kite-wings"? Where I come from that is called flying and trikes - trust the Yanks to complicate things!

On second thoughts "aero-trekking" appears to attract high quality Yankee softnesses.

Thanks, I read a lot on their websites.
Level 1 stuff is fine, but the Level 5 stuff is dangerous no room for error, and if your engine coughs just once then TRAGIC! It is definitely EXTREME stuff. I don't know if I'd like Microlighting to be associated in general with this type of level 5 EXTREME flying. You know the public they get an idea and run with it. Just now you'll get newbies rocking up at the training schools with some ideas...
