Reliable intercom, with music patch-in for a trike

I really, really enjoy flying my Raptor - even though I have had radio/intercom problems from almost day one and had a headphone repaired after 40 hours, because the cable is "not strengthened enough to take any stress".

I also enjoy good music, and if I can combine flying AND listening to good music by means of a reliable, intercom with preferably wireless headphones - man that would approximate heaven.

Anybody have experience of such a set of equipment? Talk to me, please.

speak to Paul Lintott, (ZULU1). some of the guys here are using his equipment, and I did some testing for him, very good equip. is anyone here using his equip, and any feedback??

The Xcom radio is small and light and has a built in intercom and music input. Also has dual frequency function - can transmit and receive on one frequency at the same time as listening on another.

On a similar note, is there an intercom that caters for more than one radio input ? I want the second radio to transmit as well (not at the same time!) so I need more than just an aux input. I would need a selector switch to choose the radio to transmit on.

EDIT: I see the XCOM unit from Dreamwings can do it ! Thanks Dave ! Now to figure out where to put the second radio, and antenna......

If planning more than 1 additional input (Easy plan audio, MP3, DVD, Radio Cell etc) you might have to go with an audio panel.

Today, tested my IPod through the Buzzcom sytem on my Raptor.

Nothing nicer then the company of Bob Dylan and Pink Floyd to smooth out the turbulence. :D

Have to say, was'nt expecting the awsome surround sound effect and a bit dissapointed with the blik transistor radio type quality.

I was originally just looking for an 'exclusive' helmet for my brat, but after talking to Paul, with it's superior noise filters and'bib' to elliminate air gushing underneath the visor, I think his system is the way to go.

I find after a long flight, my burny bloodshot eyes resemble a serious babbalaas.

So, what offers for a 50 hour old Buzzcom system, with 2 (one almost new) helmets?

Hi All;;;; as you mention it, we have just finalised our three input panel mount and music:

Input 1: aviation

Input 2: Security or farm radios

Input 3: Cell phone

Input 4: Ipod

They all cancel when one overrides the other and we call it flypod.

No VOX "hotmike" and noise cancelling via panel mount micophone, any radio and any headset as standard. Size slightly larger than a cigarette packet.

We have also launched our "cash in transit" VOX helmet for security companies. All our systems are now flypod compatible and noise cancelling. Our integrated helmets are available now for any existing systems..
