KEEP IT POSITIVE HERE GUYS!

On behalf of the moderators...
Just a general word of warning.
Microlighters.co.za has always been a place where very little moderation has ever been needed..... There are a few of you who are pushing the boundaries a bit so please tone down the personal attacks and keep to the spirit that has kept this forum in its happy place for so long. I have had to remind myself of this a few times so I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in specific but we all need to chill out and take a few deep breaths from time to time.
As JeanTree says...(at least I think it was him?)
...Sometimes its better to be kind than to be right.
It's about learning and engaging...sticks and stones don't teach us nothing.
Keep it positive!

Agree with Bundy..........and yes Bundy I try..........
emphasis on try, to live by that saying. "It is more important to be kind than to be right"
As Boet so rightly said....." Life is much too short" Another lesson I learnt is this : Do not try and know what other people think/say about you....IT IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS
Jean.

Thanks for bringing this up Allan. I agree absolutely. " Speak when you are angry and you will make the best speech you will ever regret".

To further on this topic --
Lets understand why the topic in question (yes I'm guilty and proud of it too!!) went the way it did --
1) the phone call which none was prive to -- should have been kept off the forum - yes apologies from my side
2) the post was a simple LIE and ENDANGERS PEOPLES LIVES through the misuse and misleading information (omissions included) in the advert!
3) If there are products for sale which are being advertised in a way that is obvious and "confirmable" by experts to be incorrect and could endanger someones life - my opinion is that the mods should get involved and either remove or request that the person change the post to be in line with fact and not BS for the sake of a sale!
Opnions are like A-holes - everyone has one --- ill keep the rest to myself.

Turbo, this was not aimed at you, but the membership of this forum in general.
You are not judge and jury, if you have a serious concern about something then the correct channel is to air that concern with one of the mods first privately.
I see nothing misleading in the ad you refer to, to justify pulling it. It is up to the purchaser to make sure the aircraft/goods they are purchasing are suited to their requirements by doing research themselves. If you feel this is not good enough then you are welcome to take it up with the relevant ARO. Microlighters.co.za IS NOT the place for this.
You are welcome to share your opinion on any posting but you have taken this issue too far in my opinion.
I will not discuss this further here, you are out of line Sir. You are welcome to contact me or another moderator privately for further discussion.

I second that Bundy.
One of the most awesome things about Microlighters is was and always will be the camaraderie between the members. I wont rehash what Bundy said as he's spot on, but I will also say that BS on the forum wont be tolerated. Take it offline if you need to in a mature and adult way, but not here.

i hear you Bundy -- and not sure where you got any indication that i was judge or jury - perhaps point this out to me, as I'm confused!
None the less you are missing the point - the advert DOES mislead and is 100% INCORRECT in what the machine can do -- it is not like a microlight or fixed wing where if there is insufficient power you simply won't take off - instead the pilot running with the 30odd KGS on his back will plunder into the ground with a 125cm propellor on his back -- there is BIG risk there.
Obviously people have to do the research - thats a given, but the advert must also be correct in what it says! How many of you know anything about PPG? Not many???? -- and for the people who do know about this sport, and know what limitations and operational outline of the various machines, should safe guard the other members -- where is the camaraderie in simply leaving the next guy to potentially (and in this case PROBABLY) hurt himself?
Its easy to say camaraderie - lets see you live up to it!

Dude - Who is to say that the machine will not perform as advertised

I understand you do not like the product - That is your personal opinion

who is to say it will not perform with my 60KG ass

If the product does not do as advertised then there are different platforms that will address the issue.
I was told my Gemini with it's little 503 with a 62" Prop will NEVER get off the ground Full fuel, 113KG Pax and Sunny afternoon up on the reef - Wanna see how well she performed

I have the Video.
Lets stop the BS and take a Chill Pill.
The forum lost many of the people cos of people not knowing when to STOP. You have said what you want. Thank you we appreciate your input.
Ok Who is up for a Beer
