Microlighters

Hi Guys

Not aviation related but I know that will be somebody here that can help. I am suddenly getting all these new windows popping up advertising casino's and all kinds of crap when I open Windows explorer. Almost every 5th word on microlighters and even avcom is hyperlinked to some advertising site

How do I stop it. Pop-Up blocker is active. I have added almost all the wwebsites that open automatically to restricted sites under internet settings. Somewhere there must be something that I can set or delete (other than deleting Internet Explorer )

Please help. It is driving me crazy. Soon I will end up buying crap and gambling on these sites that keep appearing

Chances are, you have gotten malware somewhere along the line.
Do a search for "Spybot", and use it to remove the malware on your pc.

If only I had rather gone to a porn site. Maybe the pop-ups would be better

Download Malwarebytes.... run and clean your PC.

Before you do that though, check under your installed programs if there is a recently installed Mediaplayer 1.1 or Videoplayer 1.1 - uninstall them!!

Think we all need to go back to the good ol days of "Scope"....magazines cant #$% up your PC...

Malwarebytes is the winner. About 95% success with the machines I have used it on.

@Bundy - I only used to get faulty Scope Mags. Had the blerdy star virus. Was told to take the one edition and soak the relevant pages in water and the star virusses would automatically detach themselves. Well water did nothing other than make me go out and buy a new copy of that months mag. Would have been eaisier to rather reboot the blilk.
