Yes, it looks like a great product! I have pinged them to see which of the services, e.g. live weather, are available in SA!

Awesome article. The funny thing is that it is at Elmira airport where my flying dream got re-ignited
I always wanted to fly but life sort of got in the way and one never realize that you can fly without having to do PPL and buy a Cesna

One Sunday morning living in Central Valley NY, friends of mine stopped at our house and told me to come quickly. One of my friends was an electrician and helped a guy out the day before and this guy told him as payment he must come to Elmira airport. Just hearing the word airport got me in the car quickly without asking any other questions

We got there and were all treated to about a 30minute flight in the exact type of craft talked about in this article. I flew in a yellow and brown metal glider. What an amazing experience. This is where I realized that flying was within reach for the average income family started making my plans to join the club and learn to fly gliders......and moved back to SA before I could get started......

Luckily for me we went to Ballito for a vacation and this is where i got introduced to trike flying... The rest is history

I would highly recommend going for a flip in a glider. In fact, after reading this article, i am definitely going out to Orient and see if I can get a flip

I am still an aviation wanna-be, but 3 months ago I went to the Potchefstroom Gliding Club, and it got me hooked on flying forever! The club atmosphere is great, everyone helps everyone out, and the cameradrie is great!! I realised that it is impossible to go gliding alone, a minimum of 3 persons are required for each launch, from tug pilots/winch drivers and wing runners. I was also very impressed by the safety of the operations and flying itself! What also struck me is the affordablility, you can easily fly 4 Saturdays a month with a budget of about R400. The sport also attracts from schoolchildren to airline pilots!! I hope to start my license next year, we invite you to come and visit us at FAPS and come for an intro flight!

WOW! Thanks for sharing that! I was completely unaware of Jonker Sailplanes being South African and operating out of Potch!

Now I'll most certainly be making a turn, sooner rather than later!

Seems like we have to make a plan and go to FAPS. It is only 35minutes or so from Wonderboom. Maybe I should meet you there and we take the Jabi and fly out for a look see and maybe a flip in a glider? Once I am back from vacation it will be well worth a trip. Will keep you posted once I get back
