Swartkops museum fly day

Postby Robbie Shaw » Fri Nov 29, 2013 3:18 am

FYI

The first Saturday of every month a "fly around" takes place....the understanding is that planes fly in and around Waterloo Air Force Base's aerodrome for practice and public viewing "not 100% sure just a messenger".. entrance is free, there's a great little restaurant for eats and drinks, it starts at 8.30 and ends at approximately13.00... Not sure what Aries fly best make the call to the base and ask....

Just heard about it ..... Check it out ...

Love things that fly .... This does not include your wife's cast iron frying pan   ## ## (^^) (^^) (**)

Next one 7th December 2013..

Are you not perhaps referring to the Swartkops Museum fly day?

If this is the case, and since this is a military base, you probably won't get permission to land unless prior arrangements have been made.

Rhodie, yes it is lekker...normally see the Harvards, Kudu, Oryx, Allo's and if you lucky the Vamp! vhpy

Our wonderful, law abiding and all round nice guy president probably screwed up any chance of any future fly ins to FAWK or FASK.....

But it's certainly worth the drive and to spend the morning there. Lots of interesting things to see (!!) whilst enjoying a cold one or two. (^^)

We should org a get together there in the new year... (minus the landing clearances.... :( )
