ATF at RAASA or CAA for Jab400?

Hi Guys

The beginning of this year I did my Jabi J400 ATF and went to CAA to submit the paperwork. I was told that I must go to RAASA in future but they did the ATF for me anyway seeing that I was already at CAA. :?

I fly a Jabiru J400 and needed a PPL to fly it as I left the rear seats in. If I take those out I can register it as a J200 and would then only require LSA license. Now that it is almost time again to do the ATF I was wondering :? When should the ATF be done at RAASA and when CAA? is it because of ZU registration or because of weight of the aircraft? What are the limits if any?

Where should I go for my next ATF?

Thanks

Hallo Piet.
I am open to correction. If removing the seats, brings it into the LSA category, I am sure that is okay, but don't replace the seats. I might be wrong!!!!!!
For LSA ATF. Go to RAASA. For that, I am not wrong. ## ## ##
Cheers,
Vernon.

I will be keeping the seats as I have PPL but was not sure if the ATF had to be done at RAASA or CAA but from what I understand it is RAASa for ZU registered aircraft

If it is NTCA it is with RAASA. You can still do it at CAA if you want.

The following NTCA aircraft are excluded from the RAASA administration,
and processing will remain with the SACAA:
- All NTCA Turbine aircraft
- All NTCA Jet aircraft
- All NTCA Turbine helicopters
- All NTCA piston powered helicopters
- All NTCA exceeding 3700kg
- Ex- Military aircraft exceeding 3700kg i.e.Warbirds
- All NTCA aircraft used for Part 61 AB-initio training.
I don't think the Jabi weighs more than 3700kg, or has a turbine engine, so RAASA it is ;)

Justin

It does not matter if I fly the Jabi or the trike. In my mind it is jet powered and can reach speeds of Mach 2...... I guess it is CAA then
