Can I have your opinion !

I hope not to open a Toyota vs Land Rover type argument, but I need some advice. I'm a couple of hours away from my licence and want to buy a trike. I have spoken to 101 people about what trike to buy and got 119 opinions. I,m looking at the Mainair Gemini II advertised on this forum +/- 340 hour 582 silver top & 370 MAUW. Price R 65k. So to quote Jonathan Kaplan, give me reasons not buy this trike !! I'm flying in Barberton if it helps.

On what are you doing your license(hope its on a Mainair )?

Nice trike.... but consider this:

I'm sure that Jenya could assist with any issues wrt the wing.
Are spares still available for the rest of the airframe?
If Pegasis, and Mainair merged to form P&M Aviation, the manufacturer of the famed GT450, does this mean that P&M still supplies parts for the Gemini?

Maybe speak to Gavin, Tailspin on the forum. He has a mistress such as that.

Parts are not an issue. Big G on the forum will get you any part you want or need. Flew a Blade for many years that is basically the same airframe and had not issues with parts.
The Gem is a really nice trike and you will not regret it. Mostly a little faster than a standard Aquilla or Raptor but not much! A person that does not like a Gemini / Blade has not flown one.

The only negative I have about the Gemini / Blade is the pax seat. Its not AS comfortable as lets say an Aquilla. The positive spin on that is when you fly alone there is no better lazyboy than a Gemini or Blade, you sit like a king!

You can have my opinion, however I am biased though as I used to own WGT years ago

Gemini is awesome, handles turbulance and wind much better than other similarly priced trikes (my humble biased opinion of course) - Flying one-up it is very comfy too

As mentioned by Spinter already only negative is fitting pax is tight, I however am large and did fly with pax on occasion - Tight fit, maar 'n boer maak 'n plan

Not knocking the local offering at all, I used to own one, but the Mainair does have more sex appeal IMHO.
There is one drawback however:

Me, I got a stock standard Aquilla 503................ Finnish and klaar. Want NOTHING else. Happy as larry.

Parts really are no problem on a Mainair, I have owned 2 so I am not merely speculating - I actually bought Mainair parts from the Mainair agent, Big G on this forum - No problem

I'll say it again! If you don't like a Gemini it means you have not flown one. I have flown a Scout, Safari, Aguilla, Cobra and Blade any by far the most comfortable trike is the the Gemini and Blade when flying solo. If you can afford WGT buy it!
