Margate Airport Closure

Postby HansH » Fri May 31, 2013 10:31 am

The Margate airport is closed to aviation, which it is supposed to cater for, to allow the Dragracers to commandeer the place for their purposes from the 15-17 June (long weekend). So forget about this part of the world if you want to fly in.
Up to yesterday no Notam has been issued. Even the people who hangar their aircraft here have just heard via the rumour mill.

Does the airfield insurance cover drag racing? In the event of a aircraft being damaged by a drag racer, inam sure the aircraft would would not be covered..
Centrifugal force in pure Physics does not exist, however this does not apply to Taxi drivers..
