John,

was thinking, you need to get someone to "buy" her for a "steal" because there was "something wrong" with the engine .... and keep her for you, until this she devil is out the picture --- you cant let her go mate, you so in love with this plane!

hope this gets through to you. not your problem ..it's this forum. I just can't stay logged in.

Anyway. Congrats Turbo and thanks for sharing info.

Don't have the pleasure of owning a Cheetah myself, instead a Raven.

The disc brakes are in my wise bucket. Not that I am saying drum brakes don't work.
Have flown a Raven with disc brakes and there is the noticeable reassuring difference if needed.
Have now the travel canopy vhpy

Next....

likewise congrats with your exams todate

excellent. next cross country heeehaaa.

Raven is a local SA Carl Babst design. Similar to Zodiac - USA - refer attached.

Locally i'm not sure how many have been built, reckon 30 plus.

At present we have the most Raven's in SA on one Airstrip - FASD (Saldanha).
6 complete. go check our web site www.westcoastflyingclub.co.za and click Kobie-t fly-in for all 6 Ravens
There are another 2 in process of being built which includes a first , that is a taildragger - all to be airborne within this year.
Another one in Lamberts bay.
Another I believe in Pickertberg area being built.

Not sure of rim size but tyre is 13 x 5.00

an update for those interested - 4 brake kits ordered and paid for at black max, a week ago already. Shipping not taken place as yet, as i am consolidating a shipment from other suppliers together and will ship all together as one to save costs etc.

Just letting the interested parties know the progress.

Hi Turbo,

Nice set of wheels you have. Maybe you can point me in the right direction - my Skyranger has small wheels with disc brakes - the tyres are 500 x 5 - whatever that means. I am looking to put on bigger tyres which hopefully would fit on my current rims. If I had to get bigger rims as well - so be it. Are you able to give me some advice on where to go ?

I've included a photo of my aerie so as to give you an idea of the wheel size.

Thanks,
Wizwheels (^^)

whizzwheels, send me a close up pic (clear please) of the inside of the disc brake/wheel so i can see if Rainbow copied the knuckle from the skyranger aswell, then it would give me more of an idea of whats involved.

thanks

Postby Wizzwheels » Thu Jun 20, 2013 5:17 pm

Hi Turbo,

As per your recent post to me regarding the intended upgrading of my Skyranger wheels, I've tried to attach photos but this system says they are too big. May I have your e-mail address so that I can send you then directly ?
Looking forward to hearing from you soonest.

Regards,
Wizzwheels
