Jan Kempdorp Airfield

Postby Dobbs » Sun May 05, 2013 10:36 am

Any help with information on the questions below will be much appreciated -

I have started my flight planning for the Bundu Bash and will be needing to stop somewhere between Heilbron and Upington for a leg stretch and fuel transfer, and Jan Kempdorp is exactly on track. From Google Earth it looks like a well maintained strip, but the Google images are from 2011 so hoping that someone can respond with an update, any permission required or anythng else which we need to know about the field etc?

As an alternate between Jan Kempdorp and Upington, I see Tommy's Field and Postmasburg are not too far off track - anyone with recent information / ideas on alternates.

Only another 23 sleeps (^^)

Thanks in anticipation

My flight planning also shows either Jan Kempdorp but prefer to stop at Eagle Flying Academy at Hartswater if they can help with fuel or in the event with crappy weather to stay over and tackle the last 155 miles the next morning.Sadly they don't respond to e.mails.

Would be great if any assistance could be offered at either Bloemhof, Jan Kemp or Harstwater.

Daar is brandstof beskikbaar.
Google hulle en kry alle besonderhede.
