What GPS to buy?

Postby Turbo » Sat Apr 06, 2013 9:32 pm

Hey all,

Please could someone point me in the right direction regards a good GPS to purchase? I have been told about easyplan and easycockpit etc - are these good options worth looking at instead?

Do you have an iPad?

If so (and its a 3G model) you are already 95% there - just download a good nav app - I use Air Nav Pro. it works very well.

If you do not have an iPad and do not plan on getting one, I recommend the Garmin AERA 500. Very nice!

How much do you want to spent and how "fancy" do you want to go? I bought a normal Garmin Nuvi outdoor/adventure GPS and eNuvispace program from Andre Claasen and works like a charm, also got all the small strips in SA on which the "real" flight GPSes don't have. Also us it in my car and on the bike, pragtig en eenvoudig!

it already has the Garmin 196, which i never knew was actually a good GPS -- i do have an IPAD, and also D/loaded the Air nav pro app-- thanks alot for the advise on that one. Now to learn to use it --

Also orderd the Lightspeed Sierra headsets from the USA -- the local guys are ridiculous with their prices on this !!!-- any comment on this headset, anyone have this - let me know your experience with it please.
