I will be flying by tri-bike as last ditch for some extra fitness ahead of the 70.3 Ironman next weekend. Hoping not to end up with a LFBF (Leg Failure Before Finish)

As tempting as Thatchman's bicycle ride sounds, I think I will fly Saturday morning - perhaps we meet croc somewhere between Aeroden and Ntokozo Dish? We can take off late for your sake, shall we make it wheels up at 05h15? vhpy

Wheels up at 05h15 ? let me think about that.... yeah NO

Heres why - lets do a little reverse engineering here. In order to be wheels up at 05h15 that means arrival at airfield at 04h30. Allowing time to counteract that the aeroden gate code has no doubt changed since my last flight, that my hangar door has probably been having altercations with the weather and then of course to fuel and do a proper pre flight( big D). In order to arrive at the airfield at 04h30, I would have to leave home at about 03h45 in order to allow time for purchasing said fuel and driving to Aeroden. In order to leave home at 03h45 I would have to wake up at 03h00. This time would be spent trying to diplomatically release fridays nights catch and well, as always probably having to do the right thing.. (make coffee) - so were at 03h00. Given than I would probably have met said catch between 21h00 and 23h00 doesnt really allow for much time.

ADDED to which,

I recently yesterday recieved a bank of videos from tribal croc, advocating safety first flying. One of those masterfully crafted videos depicted a story of a guy who left the fuel cap off his gyro, more importantly, his first words to his mate when answering his sparrow fart phone call were " i had a late night" - he then bolts to the airfield, forgets the hangar key, crowbars the lock off ( god alone knows how) pushes the gyro out, and presumably crashes judging by the brilliantly portrayed method acting where his mate arrives at his crashed mates doorstep to deliver the bad news to the wife and child, both of whom of course look mortified by the series of events. Notwithstanding that the little girl had a very similar expression holding the hanger key as her dad walked out the door. anyway I digress

I think flying at 05h15 is the most ridiculous idea i have ever heard.

I will be heading to the airfield at about 15h00 tomorrow. I will take my sweet time to stop and have a burger on the way. I will enjoy a leisurely late afternoon flight until the early evening, following which i shall consume frosty ice cold beer (^^) i shall then make my way home and continue to drink beer while cooking meat on an open fire with good friends.

($$) ($$) ($$)

and thats the way its done.

(PS) - Still miss me ?>???

mmm I would think if the "catch of the night" was hooked at 23h00 and after a lot of (^^) when you wake up at 3h00 and look at the actual "catch" you would what to race to the hanger, fuel up and get the F#&k out of there ## ##

That said - maybe going fishing Friday nights is a BAD idea ## ## rather tuck in early get some rest and have a nice Saturday morning flight xxx
