I was just wondering if there are any forum members on here who fly at or near Komani Microlight club ?
I am trying to find out whether they are a 'friendly bunch' or not ?

Hi Wobbly, am also a member of Komani on this site, other member is zimzulu, Wobbly if you visit komani you wont want to leave, ever been flying with almost NO RED TAPE and a bunch of friendly guys that try fly almost ever day of the week, komani is the place !!!
If you visiting and want a ride there are guys that will take up in an Aquilla to the lastest Sting4, take your pick of machines we have then all here.

Hello Graham and Raymond,

I think there is a good chance I might be coming to Komani to look at a Quik that is I believe in a Shipping Crate there, I am currently awaiting confirmation of who the registered keeper in Zimbabwe is.

Any info on this Quik would be useful.

Hmmm ok Wobbly, let me make a few phone calls and come back to you, not to sure about this aerie but there was a quik around.

Ok you are correct, there is a Quick in a crate, crate location I am not to sure right now. It seems there is more than 1 person involved in this trike. I am told the guy with the major share is Roger Whitall and he is based in the lowveld, Chiredzi. I dont have a phone number for him right now but let me see if I can find out for you.

Thanks for your update....... I believe our staff have tried to contact Roger Whittall but to no avail, I would be very interested in knowing who else is remotely involved with it.

Have now had confirmed that the registered 'keeper' is :
WILDLIFE VETERINARY - DART UNIT,
PRIVATE BAG BW6238,
BORROWDALE,
HARARE.

Not quite sure why or how Roger Whittall Safaris is supposed to be linked to this asset, but as our staff have had no response from RW to our emails we will take that as 'no response = no involvement'

Our primary goal is to see the Quik back in the air and we are striving to make that happen, I am assuming that it will need a new permit and to that end we will be looking to find a 'local' microlight inspector.

Just got a few loose ends to tie up and then hopefully I will come to Komani and get this Quik airworthy again.

Will be good to see it flying again instead of languishing in a Crate

Ah ok I remember this trike, very nice unit, always wondered where it dissappeared to. Well if I can be of any further help just let me know, I do live out of town, about 45 minute drive from komani, but willing to assist where possible.

The Crate is in one of the Hangars @ Komani........ I would be very appreciative of any assistance once I finalise the 'finer points'
