Hi,
I need a piece of alluminium grade 6061 ( T 6 Extruded).
1.3mx50mmx76mmx3mm rectangular tubing..
This is is to replace a component that was dammadge when I did the unfortunate landing with my T Birrd last weekend...
I have been phoning all over the country to try and get hold of this.
Trevor Davies, the fudie in this department, has no stock at the moment.
Maybe you know some-one who is in the aviation repairs department who can sell me a piece of this type of alluminium.

Plse, if you can help I will be very gratefull... My aerie is grounded only for this stupid piece of Allu.!!!

Tx gentleman, you make me very happy.
I have phoned Euro steel and all other major players in the Alu business including alu extruder companies.
Monday I will try GYennia, Solarwings, Ysterman Beukman and Non Ferrous metals..I will also go to some Aviation workshops in Germiston, and, and ,and.
And I will also find out if another buddy of mine could have manage to obtain a piece of this particular Alu from a undisclosed source.!!
In the meantime Trevor Watsenaam tries to organize a piece of this 'difficult to obtain' alu from America...!!!
So you guys can imagine how gatvol I am because there are many substitutes that might even be stronger and other Boer maak n plan, planne that I could bring into action...BUT, because I was so stupid to report this to CAA I have to work to the original specs, and any deviation will cause month,s and month,s of burocratic shit be-ing prescribed to you by you know who!!! ( with no experience.!!!)
Ek is gatvol.

Should Trevor Davies, as the agent, not support his product?
Ask HIM where he gets the s**t.

You won't get 6061 -T6 extrusions from any local supplier. Contact PLACO and ask them to get it from Aircraft Spruce. They get deliveries twice a week. Takes about 1 to 2 weeks from placing of order. I have used PLACO quite a lot . You can also order direct from Aircraft Spruce but I found their delivery charges much more expensive than using PLACO's system.
Good luck!

Maybe contact Hennie from Infinity Aviation. He get shipments in from ASC weekly, and his pricing seems to be a bit more competitive than Placo.
