Replacing trike wing every 5 years ?

This week i heard that there is a notice that went out that we must replace our trike wing sails every 5 years from now on.
Anybody seen the notice? What if your trike is hangard and the sail is in perfect condition and what about those guys flying maybe 20 hours a year. Those wings will still be perfect
If that is the case, trike flying will be extremely expensive and how many will be able to replace the wings sails every 5 years? In my opinion something like that will kill trike flying or what d you think?
Anybody got some info on this?
Please somebody tell me that this is not true. How many guys fly currently with wings older than 5 years that are still in perfect condition? Mine passed the stress tests as well as stitching still perfect but it is older than 5 years. The wing manufacturers will smile if there is a sudden order of about 1000 wings. How long will the waiting list be to get a new wing

Mr. Boucher
Do you know anything about this? If it is so, who do we have to shoot or burn their house down to change it
Please let us know

Where did you year that Piet?
I have seen no official Documentation suggesting this in any Misasa correspondence? It is prob just a rumor....
I see no reason for implementing that regulation...I have not heard of a proven wingsail failure in any WCM within RSA for the last 10 years? (Even Kevin Manion's accident was not proven!)
ATF's require a wingsail test every year during the inspection. That is more than sufficient to ensure safety. Dacron lifespan is more related to time and UV exposure than anything else. It can last up to 15 years if looked after correctly. Hours flown has very little to do with it actually.
I'll run this by Rowena to get clarification and to get the facts.

Thanks Bundy.
One guy flying atbour airfield bought a new wing from Jenya and told us that he heard about the wing changes and that the regular test would no longer be sufficient so not sure if just a story or the real thing.
Let us know if you hear anything
Cheers

Sounds like broken telephone to me. No logic in it but I guess in this country logic is no longer applicable.

Hi guys
I agree, dont stress. I was at Jenya 2 weeks ago and numerous times last month for my new wing sail and we spoke about lifespan (10 years) on this stuff. He never mentioned once about this new law. Im sure if true he would have mentioned this.
Relax
Gaan vlieg. Check net dat jou wing fabric pass op annual dan is jou kop deur
Cheers
