Hi Griffin,
Yesterday me and Morpheus decided to buy our selves one of these each.
If you decide on one as well we can push for Bulk discount.

Dink so daaraan indien jy nou ook so belangstel kan ons nog een bestel en 'n grooter discount kry, of jy en Morph kan in partnership koop. 1/2 Pry dink net.

I did a comparison of a number of kit planes and the Oribi is one of the least expensive of the 582 planes you can build. Very easy to put together and you end up with a real blik plane that will probably outlast all of us.

I am keen, especially if discount is option. Looking fr a project to ease me into the building thing. (Will one day build that Turbine RV, but that a bit

at the moment...)

John Waterson imports a container at a time so a discount may not be out of the question. For info I got a quote of R 151,959 (vat inc) for an Oribi kit including a 582, prop and instruments. All that would have to be added would be paint and a radio (and some manhours)

I would get only stage 1 kit - R77ish K. Hold off on instruments, eng and mount. Things they are a changing fast. There is a full glass panel being developed in CT for under R30k. The Dynon 180 is $3200 and all you need is Comm... Geoff & co's half V6 engine in Durbs, the diesels and VW's...
Ebay is also becomming more accessable via EMS through USPS. I have a full new panel for my RV at less than R20K off ebay (new VM1000, intercom, audio panel, Nav/com, KT76A Transponder and plenty guages). Quote from locals for exactly same goods was R48K excluding installation which was another R15K.

Ok so who is our procurement guy here that can negotiate a price? I need a fully assembiled plane at the cheapest price.
