Parachute rocket cause of an inflight explosion ?

1) Not sure about the classification of a Jabi 450 as a microlight ?
2) Is it likely that the rocket could explode ?

Sounds like sensationalist reporting to me Alkemac?
'A person living nearby heard the explosion before the plane hit the ground and alerted the emergency services.'
Question is did this person see it?
Perhaps the "explosion" was just the pilot trying to deploy a ballistic chute? Planes very seldom just "explode". My guess would be possible structural failure or a fire on board....sounds bizarre nonetheless?
Who knows....
