Frank, there is not such a rating for a MPL pilot. If you want to get a COM license you will have to follow the PPL fix wing route. The highest rating for a microlight pilot is instructors rating. There definitely is a com rating exact particulars to be found withRAASA.
At least one com operation I know of flying from Groutville in Natal. Crop spraying with a trike

No comm, you get a part 96 autho for flips and if you want to do any other work with any ntca you need the aircraft approved for part 96 which means it has to be a production and not amateurbuild aircraft as well the operation needs
To be either part 121, 135,137 etc and you need an aoc and all the rest at caa and that means that the pilot also needs A com license and so on

I know the requirement is set out in the regulations, but the regulations is only set out for the pilot which is 10 hours dual training and ground school with written exams.
The problems comes in that there is no regulations set out yet for the authorization for a part 96 setup. In other words, you as pilot can get a part 96 rating, but you cannot get a vehicle to exercise your part 96 privileges.
If you as a pilot get an instructors rating, you can only exercise the privilege to train students in an authorized ATO. Same applies to an part 96 operation.
This is my understanding of the current situation.

Pretty useless.....so what do you do if you want to charge for flips ala Balito and South Coast etc..?

I do not agree with Wargames. In a meeting with CAA not to long ago we discussed these issues. The aircraft requirement is that it has to be a production build plane if it is to be used for commercial work. The biggest obstacle is the AOC and the Air Servces License. DIe kool is die sous nie werd nie.
The best (most cost effective) and only legal route to do flipping is to have a school registered and use excersize 3.

Guys it CAN be done. BUT it is a lot of hassle and not worth the money involved. As I said there IS a crop spraying operation at Groutville from a trike and I made enquiries last year about flipping. There is no 96 authority to flip and the loopholes of intro flights and "club member " privileges are usually used for excuses to flip. It can be argued that Aquilla or Windlass trikes are production aircraft and NOT self built, but they still have to be very strictly serviced and inspected for such an operation. Like already said can be done but apain in the arse !

The short answer is that you cannot do flips legally at the moment. You can register a school and use exercise 3(intro flights). Remember the law is very clear on this, the moment you charge for a service it becomes a commercial operation. This same rule applies to guys building aircraft for customers.
