Flip please

Postby Bulletjie » Wed May 09, 2012 12:17 pm

I hope there is someone that can help me. There is a guy working with me that has never flown before. My problem is that he is about 150kg and I only have a little Aquilla! Is there someone with something more powerful that is willing to make this man's dream come true? Please?

Hey Vatso

This is totally toung in cheek, the guys did not mean anything bad.
I am sure each and every one of the guys that made a comment will want to take him up but they are seriously limited.

I would chance it is i had a long enough runway.

I've seen a guy around that size..maybe bigger being taken up in an Aquilla 582 and they were fine..but the pilot is a thin dude :)

I am 80kg and have taken a guy of 110kg for a flip in my 503 Aquilla with 50l of fuel onboard on a cold winter morning in Bloem without a problem. Sure a 582 with 20l of fuel can easily do it depending on density altitude and height AMSL.

Some are suggesting a 912 trike.... am I missing something here?

WCM have a MAUW of 450kg, what difference does the motor make?

Good on you Gerhard for trying to make someone's dream come true (^^)

With a low Fuel weight it is possible if the pilot is a "maergat" like me. Oom Alex will give him a great experience I'm sure. I'd offer but you know my status at the moment  ^

Good point Alan. The engine size and configuration has nothing to do with the MAUW in this case.
The airframe is designed to cary a maximum load of 450KG. Thats the end of it!

Agreed, but it depends on the length of your runway, a 912 will be airborn in a much shorter distance than a 503 or a 582, everybody's runways is not a mile long, too much power is just enough.
