Rotax 914 Servo motors

Postby Doug Gleen » Wed May 09, 2012 10:56 am

I believe that the Rotax 914 have servo motor problems.
A number of servo motors have given problems recently, to the degree that the agents don't have stock.
It takes 3 weeks to obtain spares.
Firstly does anyone have access to a Rotax 914 servo motor ?
Secondly I feel having to wait 3 weeks for vital spares, is not accepatble service.
Rotax Austria are not interested in the problem and don't even return phone calls.
Has anyone had a similar bad service from Rotax ?
I advise all Rotax 914 owners to check their servo motors carefully during pre-flight checks.

Hi Doug, what type of problems does the servo motor have? Is it on newer or older motors? I fly a M22 gyro - what type of ac do you fly? I have done more than 2000 hours on two 914 motors and never had any problems.

The agents should be able to courier the part in within 48 - 72 hours but they will charge you the courier fee.

Thanks,

Lion.

Our local Gyro pilot is replacing his faulty 914 turbo servo today! His spares arrived this week.
