Postby Bulletjie » Wed May 02, 2012 1:32 pm

Could someone please supply me with a list of documents and equipment that is compulsory on a trike during a ramp inspection.

Hi Gerhard,

Documentation:

Valid ATF
Certificate of Registration
Valid Pilots licence and applicable ratings
Radio licence or proof of payment
Valid Medical Cert.
Proof of valid AeCSA and Misasa membership (Card or proof of payment)

Edit: sorry! I left out the logbooks, personal and flight folio!

Equipment:

As far as I know the essentials for a trike are a Magnetic Compass, VHF radio and an Altimeter.

Thank you Bundy.

Are fire extinguishers and first aid kits compulsory or just good to have?

If you don't have a fire extinguisher,a really big P will help as well  ## ^

Builders stock really small extinguishers, nice for trikes s023

As far as I know, a first aid kit is compulsary, as is a fire extinguisher. Must be the Halon type. Co2 and BCF not approved by CAA.

And then you find that you are overweight because of all the docs and cannot fly....... but you can sit in the hanger and talk about it

AeCSA membership (sadly) only required if you are a microlight. If LSA not required at this stage. (But did ask on the Misasa thread if it would be part of a ramp inspection and was told not required to carry.)
If you are 20 miles or intending to fly more than 20 miles, a map of the area also required on board.
