Comet has just informed me that they will only be able to conduct the course during May this year.
So we still have some time and everyone that's interested will be kept informed as to the exact date.

Our esteemed fellow microlighter and forum member, Mr John.com has kindly volunteered to take over the organising of this event on my behalf. Thanks John, much appreciated. !!!! !!!!

The 2 stroke maintenance course is back on track provided that there are a minimum of 5 persons attending.

The dates are as follows:
503/582 Line Maintenance on 04 June 2012 @ R1 500.00 per person
503/582 heavy maintenance on 05 and 06 June 2012 @ R2 500.00 per person

You cannot do the Heavy Maintenance Course without doing the Line Maintenance course first.

I've just spoken to Angela at Comet and she suggested that all interested parties liaise directly with her regarding payment etc. so neither John or I will be involved in taking names and making arrangements anymore.

Here are the details of the course/s:

Start at 8:00 for 8:30
Finish at 17:00-18:00
R1500-00 Incl VAT per person per day

• Description of Engines
• Installation Requirements
• Line Maintenance of the Various systems
• Troubleshooting
• Fuel & Oil
• Overhaul - Why and When?
• Open Discussions

Course notes will be supplied
Courses are held at the Rand Airport Terminal Building.
The courses will entail theoretical lessons and practical demonstrations.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
A minimum of 5 participants is required per class.
Payment required is required with booking confirmation.

A short multiple choice test will have to be completed and the pass rate is 80%. You will be allowed to use the documentation provided, however some questions are dependent on the information given during the course.

Successful completion of this course does not necessarily entitle the participant to carry out any maintenance of aircraft engines. The persons who are entitled to perform such maintenance are determined by regulations issued by the SACAA.
