Air France Disaster Presentation Invite -Kitty Hawk Airfield

Hello Everyone
You are invited to a presentation on the Air France Flight 447 disaster over the Atlantic Ocean. 14 March at Kitty Hawk Airfield, 18:00.
This discussion covers the preliminary findings by the French BEA [Accident Investigation Bureau], as backed up by extracts from the DFDR [Digital Flight Data Recorder] as well as the CVR [Cockpit Voice Recorder]. It also covers various speculation theories with regards to AUTOMATION, and the “WHAT NOW” deals with possible resolves. It is very informal, but hopefully we can all learn from this accident, ------“lives lost should not be in vain?!”
The speaker, Cobus Toerien, is a product from the SA Air Force where he spent 26 years flying Harvards, Impala’s, Mirage III, Mirage F1CZ and Cheetah type aircraft. During this time he was also appointed as the Commanding Officer at 2 Squadron [the flying Cheetahs] for 5 years, ending his career as Deputy Director Combat Systems. He then joined the SAA as an Aircraft Accident Investigator. He also became the Flight Safety Manager / Specialist and started flying again as firstly P3 on the A340 seven years ago, then as P2 on the B738 for 4 years and recently as P2 on the A340 on international routes. A few months ago ALPA asked him to take up the Chairman position of their Accident Analysis & Prevention Committee, and that is how he ended up here at Kitty Hawk!
