Nice, Original FW190. What a sound!!!!

Postby JvTonder » Sun Jan 01, 2012 11:16 am

On Luftwaffe day 8/6/2011, the FHC flew their FW 190 warbird. In my opinion, the original WWII BMW 801 on this plane is the best and most beastly sounding radial engine I have ever heard.

The P51D remains my favorite aerie of all time. From design to prototype in 100 days, in its time the best long range fighter around..... And an absolutely stunning machine.. 8)

The yanks did not call the FW190 the butcherbird for nothing  (^^)

The spity, hurricane, P51, P40 and all the rest were great and sounds great but nothing beats that radial sound off the 190! (^^)
And the lines off the 190 is absolute stunning...............

Oo and the P51 is originally a british design with some changes done by the yanks, so is it really an American design???

PS: any off us would give their left nut just to fly in any off them so does it really matter?

I have been recording this series on DSTV (I've programmed the record all in the series)- well worth it - (as long as you don't mind American warbirds being faster, smarter & better than everyone elses! )

Discovery World Channel 250
Showdown: Air Combat
F4U Corsair vs. Zero
F86a Sabre vs Mig 15
Zero vs F4F Wildcat
P51 Mustang vs Me 109

Also seen one on the P38 lightning.
If you can fly today - leave everything else for tomorrow
