Contour VHold Camera - Good Service

Not often that one can report good service.
On 24 October I contacted the local agent for the VholdR Contour camera, which I use on the wing of DVE. It was working fine with one flip, and the next it would not switch on, and when shaking I could hear something loose. Typical, I thought, a couple of months after the guarantee expired.
The local Agent, Matthew De Reuck from bikegear.co.za told me that they do not actually carry out repairs in South Africa. I was a bit disappointed when he told me I have to contact the company in USA and get after-service from them. One would have thought an agent would have some sort of backup system in place.
So I decided to contact Contour in Seattle, USA. A Jeremy Jones contacted me, asked questions about the serial etc. and gave me a reference for the return. I then went to UPS to ship the camera to USA, to be told the 500g parcel would cost R1300. I decided that the camera is a lost case, but I would take the chance with good old South African Post Office, and sent off the parcel for just over R200 (no insurance, no tracing, nada) on the 27th October, not expecting it to ever arrive in USA.
So I was quite surprised to receive an email on the 9th November to tell me a parcel was being Fed-Ex'ed to me. It arrived on the 15th.
No note, nothing, just a brand new replacement camera.
Impressed by Contour USA, and surprised by the South African Postal Service.
