It is that time of year when we host the
BugWar Charity paintball (
http://www.bugwar.co.za ) (
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=172036766174724 )
BugWar Paintball is a fun event for casual players and pro's alike. We have rentals available for the casual players and there will be food and cold drinks available. The games are structured in such a way that anyone can win and in the past the "spoeg-and-plak" teams beat the pro's time and again.
This year's event will be at Jumpers Lair Paintball field in Edenvale on 8 October 2011

what time is the paintball thingy? I want to fly Saturday morning 8th Oct and not sure how long that will go on for... also what time I will want to get back... anyway - if I missed the time on your message... please excuse me... if not... let us know... do we have to book it through you? Never done paint-balling... I believe it hurts when that paint hits you and you walk away with loads of bruises... ummmm - dunno if I like that idea...

It starts at 9 and goes on until 9 that evening. Please join us at any time.
Yes it hurts but much less pain than the kids with cancer has to go through.
Africa is not for sissies!

Me and GeelKerneels are flying aerial cover at the event - we will be armed to the teeth with high speed automatic "markers" and will be strafing the battle area whole day long, laying down 100's of rounds of paint on anybody that dares to break cover - ala A10 Warthog!
Not really!

(it would be fun though...)
I missed out last year but I booked my place for this year a month ago - from pics and testimony of past events this sounds like a great, potentially painful, jol! And it goes for a good cause.

Maybe next year Bugwar, advertise a bit earlier?
(I am sure a couple of our friends are already thinking how to combine paintball with flying..

)

Yes i must say i have thought of that and well not sure the other pilots would enjoy having their pride and joys nailed with paintballs

I think we should have a competition to shoot stationary targets along the runway. Pilot and gunner team do a low level flyby and attemt to hit as many "bulls eyes" as possible.
Saw some targets at ML an I have 20 paintball markers. Anyone interested. We can donate the proceeds to same cause.

This year will be the 3rd year of BugWar paintball. Usually around the 10th of October every year.
We moved it from the bushveld to Gauteng this year to see if the attendance will be better.
