RAASA Contract Renewed

Chris Booysen has announced on AVCOM that the RAASA contract has been renewed...
he Board of the CAA have just renewed the RAASA contract for a further 3 years. The CAA Board did have a few requirements that go with the renewal which will have to be cleared with the Director of CAA. The RAASA Board has not yet met to formally accept the the new requirements but I do not see that as an issue.

There is a Linkin Park song about him.... goes something like this - Crawling under my skin

What is heart warming is to see that the guys that deal with RAASA are so satisfied and overjoyed with the outcome...
The individual "soothsayers" need to re-look their approach of so called "uniting" aviation sections as opposed to stirring unnecessary shit and sowing discontent which was so uncalled for!
What is important that the sub-sections resorting under AeroclubSA that have not finalised their ARO applications and processes, need to do so. MISASA's ARO is done and dusted and will come up for renewal early next year and we think we have justified it's continuation. SAGPA (Eric, Len & boys) were intensely busy with theirs so hope they are successful.... The ARO's give us that legal standing and the
official voice and representation required by legislation.
Just so that you guys know that should you experience any problems with RAASA, we have an open channel to Neil, Pierre, Willem and team!

Great news!
I have only had great and friendly service from RAASA, even when I made a mistake with some paperwork they went out of their way to help and I walked out of there with the problem solved and a smile! I will be visiting them (and CAA) in the next week or so and I know I can expect good service!
I cannot understand why some people (on Avcom) have a problem with RAASA....
Fly safe,
Rudi

Only some Rudi.... it's because some has appointed itself as watchdog and sees the opportunity to try and gain membership under auspices that said organisation is "now" looking after said pilots - get real!

It is quite sad, I considered joining "his" organization but after that bit I have changed my mind

Well done to all involved!
I am VERY happy to continue dealing with RAASA daily.
No complaints, only compliments from our side.
PS; I read Maulers post on Avcom saying that RAASA was established 'secretly' and 'without consultation' ... what utter busllshit. They even came and did presentations way before the time in the Cape and once we understood what they were going to do for us, we all supported the idea. They have done what they said they would, so leave them alone!
