Leave the "impress" button out of the cockpit.... get over the urge to do the "watch this" kind of flying that sometimes happens.... often with a gathering on the ground or even a new pax in the cockpit ( be they your mates or strangers) a feeling of "watch this" develops as blood rushes to the head.... the big red "impress everyone " button is pushed and the pilot flies straight to the scene of the accident.

do what you do safely, dont try and impress ANYONE and fly well within your limits....

Never lose respect for your aeroplane, for if you do, it WILL kill you. I am NOT warning you. I am TELLING you. IT WILL KILL YOU.
Fly safe!

Also a newby...but I believe this....
When you are no longer are nervous to fly.... "stop flying"...this is when complacency sets in...

In addition to all the above advice....
DO NOT go flying in winter when the zip on your flight suit is broken.... your Nipples WILL get frost bite!
On a serious note: Do not let your own judgement be affected by outside influences. If you think you cant do something then dont! Fly and learn at your own pace and ALWAYS fly within your own (and the plane's) limits!
... just some thoughts from a rookie!

All the methods to be stupid, hurt and kill yourself have been used.
Just look them up and learn from them and you'll be fine.
