PPL hours towards COM?

Postby Jakes » Sun May 29, 2011 6:48 pm

Hi guys,

This is most probably going to be stupid questions, but need some answers:

1. If an aircraft is registred in the LSA category, will the hours flown on this aircraf by a PPL pilot count towards his COM licence or must the hours be on a registred light aircraft?
2. If I had a MPL licence that expired 5 years ago and I renew my licence according to all the required hours and tests............do I have a MPL or LSA licence?
3. Is there a difference between a MPL and a LSA licence?

Hope you guys can give me some clearance on this questions.

Hi Jakes,

On #1: The hours count, as long you does not use a Z-type code. Phone CAA and ask for a alternative type code for that type to use for hour building purposes.
#2: That will depend on the weight of the aircraft. MAUW < 450kg -> MPL; MAUW < 600kg -> LSA
#3: Check answer above.

Phone Willem at raasa, although chances are good that he will refer you to CAA.

G0od luck.
