Gogo needs a flip?

Hi Everyone,

I am trying to organise a microlight flip for my Grandmother. She is in her early eighties! She nags me all the time for a flip in the trike but unfortunately I cant take her as she will not be able to get in or out of the passenger seat as it is too high. I thought I'd ask you Bantamites or Thunderbird pilots if someone is willing to take her up for a scenic flight? The side by side seating arrangements will be better for someone her age.

She is in good health so dont worry guys! (this is NOT a suicide attempt!! ha ha)

Anywhere close to PTA will do, anyone willing to help or point me in the right direction, please PM me.

Many Thanks,
Alan 072 8232341

Trevor Davies at Crosswinds does intro flights on Thunderbird 582, very nice - I flew with him about a year ago, I forget cost but was very reasonable for 20min flight

Also, try Sue Singleton in Hekpoort valley for intro on Bantam

Cheers

Stem saam met nicow.

Help haar eerder in die trike met `n paar hande. Dis in my opinie makliker as om in `n Bantam in te try klim.

Yes Bundy, I agree witk Nicow and others.
I am currently training on a Thunderbird and also fly a Aquilla. puff puff
It is more spacious and easy to board a trike than to get into the front seat of a Thunderbird.!!!!

Reminder....I hope you guys are planning to join Alpha to come and vissit me this Saturday.

Hi All, Sorry for the Hijack, but I hope some of you will be joining me for the flight to Blue Max's place on Saturday...weather is looking good for saturday and sunday morning.

As for the flip, I took my Dad, who is 78 and although he managed to get on found it difficult, but the flight with his son made it worthwhile...so to echo what everyone is saying, get a ladder and help her onto your trike...she would enjoy it more...

Fly Safe (^^)

Would love to be able to help but the Bantam is NOT the plane on which to do it... trust me, not easy entry and exit for an older person.... best advice so far get a little ladder and help her up like that?? - is there any chance at all that an instructor could let her fly front seat ??? Excuse the ignorance but mayybbeee thats an idea ??

He he,

Thanks for the replies/advice guys!

Dish and Blue Max, Im gonna take your advice and maar make a plan to get her in the trike. I am a bit nervous of putting her in the front with an instructor as I worry about her feet slipping off the pegs on touchdown (i dont think her little legs will even reach them! haha)

We'll have to pick the old duck up and lift her in I guess! (^^)

Thanks for your responses.

Blue Max, Id love to fly in to your place but at the moment I am one of those poor bastards who managed to pay for training but are still saving up to buy their own plane! I can usually only take the schools trike out for an hour at a time and I know they are pretty booked up this weekend so I cant make it Im afraid?

My mate is almost done getting his ATF ready for his Pegasus so we will come visit you soon in his aerie?

Regards,

Use an Aquilla, loosen the velcro straps under the front sea and tilt it forward, this make it much easier to get her in and out of rear seat, I took a friends mom in her 80s for a flip in my Aquilla and getting her in and out was no big deal, unfortunately I am in Bloem otherwise I would be glad to help

Well guys, we managed to get the old duck in the back seat and I took her for a flip around the Cullinan area on Sat morning. She had a ball!! Must admit, getting her in and out was a bit of a mission but managed to get it right in the end.

Thanks for all the advice! Will post a pic as soon as I downloadf them off the camera. (^^)
