Easter Break

Postby OzGyro » Sun Feb 27, 2011 9:06 pm

Hi All

Ok so I was planning to head back to OZ for the easter holidays, but seeing most of the country has experienced either bushfires, cyclones or floods I have decided I should stay and see more of South Africa. Does anyone have a good idea as to where I can spend 3-5 days over the easter break. Prerequisites are it must have 3G connectivity as I still need to be able to login for work, prefer within 2-4 drive from Johannesburg, although dont mind flying commercial airlines if required. Any thoughts or ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers

If you still have your bike - Eastern Transvaal - Mpumulanga - Graskop, Sabie, Pilgrimsrest area. Lotsa bikers there over the easter. Spend many a easter camping in Pilgrimsrest next to my bike. (^^) A must for a biker sometime in his life. Just outside Graskop, on the Hazyview road is a stunning place, Panorama. Nice views next to the pool to log into work. 24°56'51.01"S, 30°50'39.80"E

....................but whatever you do, take the bike. (^^)

I would rather fly my trike. Bikes are downright dangerous things (-)

If you don't have a trike you might try it in a gyro.....but it's not the same.

Agree with Nicow. Numbi Hotel at Hazyview have a nice landing strip and very friendly to Microlights and Gyro's. Book in at Numbi and explore God's Window, Sabie, Graskop. Some of the best scenery in SA.

Walking distance from The Hotel, find the tourism Info.

Did the quad bike trails and the canopy tours are awesome.
