Hi all,
Can someone please give me some answers..?
On Sat morning, I took a flip from Cullinan to Rust de Winter Dam and back. Departed on 124.40 (GF2 frequency) and upon reaching the Northern boundary of FAD128, changed over to 127.40 which was listed on my air fields guide as the frequency for Buffelsdrif air strip (just north of the Dam). This was clearly not right as I was picking up traffic on approach for FAJS. I was below the CTA and flying at 5500ft.
After coming back, I was told that we should have been on the "bush frequency" 124.80. I have been told that this frequency is to be used when flying below 1500ft AGL ,outside of controlled airspace anywhere in the country?Apparently also to be used when flying to an airfield without a dedicated frequency.
Would appreciate your thoughts..
Regards,
Bush Frequency?

Re: Bush Frequency?
That should also say unless specified. Most GFAs in our area have allocated frequencies.Bugwar wrote: Broadcast Frequency 124.4 MHz - All General Flying Areas

Nevermind Bundy, now get it right. I think it was Jim Davies that stated "50% of pilots are on the wrong frequency 50% of the time"
