Microlighters

That is exactly what I'm up to in the next 2 days. Already received a big "Karibu" (welcome) from the ATC at Kilimanjaro International airport. Just waiting for a nice cloudless day with good VIS them I'm taking to the air eastbound past the high mountain with the snow cap called Kili for a touch and go at Kili International. Only about 49nm from home base Arusha, but it wil make for intereting flying. "MVF join left base behind the 727 on a 20 mile final number two"
From there we turning North west pasing through the coriddor between Kili and Mt Meru towards Lake Manyara and end it all of with a nice smooth landing (hopefully not another 30 - 35 mile gusting crosswind ) back at Arusha.

PS: Oh and by the way I have add up my hours in the logbook this morning and has done 28 Hours 30 min in the past 7 days. Hope the Gautengers have good weather soon

What you are experiencing is only what I can dream of! I can just imagine how wonderful it is to fly close by the mountain-though I don't think it would be possible to fly past the snow capped summit at an altitude of more than 15 000 feet asl

I am working in Tanzania and I often go to Arusha. How do I contact you and will it be possible to "hire and fly" there? I would love to be able to do some flying while I am here.

I work for a company that sends 50% of our staff to TZ every week.... staff up in DAR and sites like Bulyanhulu, Tulawaka, Buzwagi, North Mara, Mwanza all the time.... to get this job I had to have a valid passport - sooooo now I'm thinking, if I have to travel up there soon at least I can get in touch with you and fly a microlight - right?

YAY..... good to know there are peeps up there flying microlights....
have fun - and WOW - what a sight to see ol' Kili... you lucky fish...

Ek is besig met my Buckit List en dit sal nie veel neem om so n uitdaging te aanvaar nie.
Veral as ek weet daar is n Suid_Afrikaner wie my kan raad gee as ek daar is en ook met die ander logistics wat nodig is.
