Hi Tribal croc:
I was one of the okes from Kroon that flew there yesterday. We had absolutely nice weather and had an awesome time, enjoying the swamps that are soaked with water.

The area there where the Pienaarsriver flows is very flat causing the water to create large dams or swamps when good rains fall. I would recommend that you visit the area soon while there is still much water. My co-ords are the following: S25 10 976 E028 06 987. The place is about 10 miles to the north east of the Tshwaing Crator and stretches over a large area. You can spot it from far. From Kroon we usually also fly past the Crator to appreciate the damage caused by a metiorite which smashed into the earth some 250 thousand years ago......
Regards and happy flying

Hi Jaco:
This fly-away was decided on on very short notice(Friday afternoon) due to the non-friendly microlight weather we experienced lately. As a matter of fact, we have already planned such a trip several times during January 2011, but was cancelled each time due to the weather. I personally would welcome it if you(or anyone else)could join us and I am pretty sure that no-one at Kroon would mind if anyone joins us with fly-aways. I see you are flying from one of our neighbouring airfields which would enable you to easily join us. We usually post fly aways on our own website, i.e.
www.microflyers
Hoping to meet you soon.
Regards

Always a very nice trip that and the more planes that join in the better. We once in 2009 did this trip with 14 trikes participating. Seing all these multi coloured trikes lined up is an awsome sight.
Baie mooi foto's Johan en Francois......
Jaco from Brits you can also fly to the Klipvoor dam (BEWARE of your altitude here) and then fly East along the river away from the dam and you will soon enough experience the swamps.
Fly safe.
