Hi Slider
the following link gives the weather data for midrand
http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... &year=2010
scroll down to 13:00 - 14:30 my assumption is that there was a major storm with the wind gusting up to 66 kph, temperature drop of 9 deg and up to 11mm rain, clearing from at 14:30 ==> thunderstorm ==> lighting

One of our backup systems went off for 18 seconds, and everybody blames my UPS’s.

We proved it was NOT that, so the supplier came up with a solution......... “an Analogue telephone connecting from the outside conducted lightning into the until”. Keep in mind that ONLY half of the equipment was lost for the 18 seconds and NOTHING ells. I just needed to see if any storm activity was causing this. I still cant see this being the cause of the failure. A well, as long as they don’t blame my facility, and they are happy, its fine with me
