Microlighters

SAPFA invites microlighters for the 3rd year in a row to the SA National Presicion Landing Championships to be hosted at FABS (Brits) on Saturday 27 November 2010. Friday afternoon will be free practise with lots of SA Champs at hand to give us advice.

This has proved a popular event with microlights in 2008 and 2009. We are given our own class by SAPFA with Aeroclub medals and SAPFA certificates for the first 3 positions. In the past we had 3 flights of 4 microlights entered (3-axis and weightshift), and another 25 entries from the blik-aerie guys.

Great fun, lots to laugh (and) lots to learn.

No matter what your experience level, you WILL walk away a better pilot. It instills confidence in you, and you will never fear an engine-out again (Okay, much less then before! ) !

Landings consist of:
-Normal landings from 500ft with power, flaps (if applicable)
-Normal landings from 500ft without flaps (trikes will do another as per above)
-Glide landings from 1000ft (engine kept on idle)
-Powered landings over an obstacle

More info to follow soon. Free hangarage will be made available for those seeking space on Friday. Ditto Saturday for those not wanting to fly back. Saturday evening is price giving and moerse banquet meal. I do not know the cost yet, but all this is covered by an entry fee of about R 150.00.

Hope to see lots from Rosslyn, Aeroden, Aviators, Rustenburg, Rieties boys, Ngwe and everywhere !

Nico as ek jou raad kan gee, kom al die Vrydag deur as jy kan. Dan kan jy oefen, betaling afhandel en dan is jy sommer reg vir die volgende oggend want dinge roer vroeg. Verlede jaar en 2008 het ons vroeg afgeskop - 08h00 as ek reg onthou

Ek sal graag al Vrydag wil deurvlieg,maar sal oornagplek vir my trike benodig.

Camp at Brits, we have great ablutions, kitchen, pub, 2 rooms @ R 150 each, but they will be gone quickly.

More "no charge" hangars available ! We will have Avgas and Mogas available.

4 Bantams, 3 trikes so far. Let's aim for 12 Microlights, although the more than 12 the better.
Demon, what about a flight of 4 GT's +R's from Rieties ? It's only for that Saturday morning !

Briefing should be at 08h00 with start time thereafter.

One of the organisers has indicated that Microlights will do all 4 of their sequences first.

In the past all competitors (bliks and microlights) did their first sequence of 4 landings starting at 08h00. By the time everyone is done, the second sequence would start at about 10h00 and the 4th sequence would end up at about 14h00.

To make it easier and safer (and less chance of midday turbulence and crosswinds), micolighters will therefor now be finished with all 4 sequences by around 09h30.

Now let's see some more entries !

Ek sien dat die prys uitdeling eers Saterdag-aand gaan wees.

Wou graag ook daar wees om n paar van julle jonger ouens aan te vat maar ongelukkig het ons n S&R aan by Grobbies en ek is die organizer!!!!!!
