Hi,

Many of us know that 214 Rhino have been nailed this year.

2 vets, 2 hunters and a R44 pilot.

These guys are twisted and sick.

I am going to stick their mugs on every forum I know.

Does the R44 pilot own his own chopper?

His license should be taken away, his chopper sold and the money donated to nature conservation. Once that is done, he and the rest of those bastards can be tortured for 2 weeks and then thrown in prison. :x

Anybody want to buy a R44 vhpy

John, my way of revenge is to develop technology to catch these bastards, I have done a very recent project with Tanzania and would love to share it here. What they have done is unfortunately has happened. But what we can do about stopping them from doing in the future is where we have the edge....I heard today that the parks board chaps are getting kitted up, they need our help. The Bateleurs are a great place to start.

Tracking these scum is not difficult.

How can we help? I am not too keen to face an AK47 mid-flight though! After our last stint over Barakalolo I am more than keen to fly legally over the area!

Let us hope and pray they do prison time and in there they get what is coming to them, and lets hope all of them get a slow puncture....what goes around comes around...

It is the most awful thing I've ever seen, they should be utterly ashamed of themselves, how can they possibly look in the mirror and feel good about themselves, greedy gutteral, slimy, sleezy, evil, cowardly and very pathetic individuals...

That R44 should be BURNED in front of it`s owner. .......just make sure the damn thing is not on HP at the bank, and make sure there is NO insurance on it!!

Oh yess, and make the bastard WATCH. He should not even be allowed to get a LIFT on a bicycle. never mind ride on one.

Hi,

I agree. !!!!

Fact is 99.99% of us could never commit such deeds and hopefully farmers should have no "ill feelings" or worries when they see us fly over.

Fact - I hate what was done, and agree fully that it is completely unacceptable.
Fact - I don't know these people from a bar of soap.

But because of this I even further distance myself from judging them. I don't know their circumstances, who they are or why did did what they did, so who am I to judge. Who made me judge and executioner... ##

I too do not know them, but you don't have to know them to know that they were not starving homeless people. These guys, educted wealthy people (vets and Game Lodge owners) brutally and mercilessly hacked off the horn, leaving the carcass, sometimes the live animal, so that they could sell the horn on the black market. Admittedly, they are only one link in the chain, but they were a vital link and need to be removed from society.

Shocking crimes by all involved but I fear that nothing will really change until the authorities in the eastern countries ( where 99.9% of the horns end up) tackle the problem first hand. Much stronger penalties and prison sentences need to be put in place as well as a massive educational program to make these people aware of the dire situation here regarding these animals.

I dont think that the authorities there really care about an animal that comes from an ocean away.

Regarding the local's who orchistrate and carry out these deeds, consider that even the kingpins and top guys who arrange this type of thing will if convicted most likely only get a fine or a term not exceeding 10 years. Of those ten years, they might only serve 4 - 5 years in jail. These @#%$! have made millions off their crime and to be honest I dont think they are too worried. Their lawyers will prob plead guilty to a lesser offence and they will walk away with a fine. R 250 000 maybe? Wow, thats like one or two rhino horns! Out of 200 plus that have been poached. There's your problem Sherlock! You will never ever stop the carnage until the punishment becomes more of a deterent. Eg R5 mil fine and min 25 year jail sentence i think would be a good start. This I'm sure will at least give these animals a chance.

The biggest problem however still remains the fact that the eastern countries do very little to change the attitudes there, and while there is a market, there will always be a supply. No matter how bad the consequences if caught here.

Dont be suprised if within the next 20 to 30 years, the only place to show your kids/grandchildren a live rhino will be at a zoo or on You tube.
  :( :(
