Hi everyone,
While posting responses on a topic in the training forum, John Boucher indicated that if we could get enough interested parties together then he might be able to organise a S + R presentation up here in Gauteng. I really think it would be great to organise something like this and take advantage of his offer.
Would interested parties please reply to this thread and lets see how many pilots we can gather together.

Let us organise a fly-in to Aeroden for this, great facilities, central for most Gauteng Aviators?

Very worth while attending! While the one in CT wasn't as well attended as I expected, it was a most enlightening and sobering experience. I think it should be compulsory! If you're ever in the dwang, your best chance of being found and saved is through their co-ordinated and unselfish efforts.
Their (SASAR) numbers are on my phone, against the fridge and been given to my loved ones (and everyone else that cares to listen).
011 928 6454 or Santjie White direct anytime in case of emergency - 082 823 8493.
I hope you never need them, they are living proof that there are angels amongst us!

ATC is attending from 07:30, where is everyone coming from? Last count we have 70+ flying in, when are you planning to arrive? This is a serious matter, lets start at latest ETA. How long is the presentation?

As we discussed, I will be there depending on where we have it. I am as you know in PTA so anywhere from Rhino park to Brits is always great.

I agree with Dark Helmut, it would be great to have it at the Swartkops fly in but I am not sure if he can arrange it at such short notice? I have PM him to check it out. I will also be attending the fly in but unfortunately not in a plane! Still completing my training... Does anyone know when the gates at swartkops will open?

I have recently completed a project with the SA Mountain Rescue club and their Topman Rob Thomas, now beside the fact they are looking for sponsors for new kit, I can sort something out for you as hes in Pretoria. Need a coord man and I will put you in the right direction.

Just spoke to John Boucher and he has spoken to Santjie who says it will not be a problem for Saturday. Who is the organiser for Sat fly in? would like to get in contact with him urgently to try and see if we can fit it into the (already) busy schedule for Sat.
See you all there!

DH asked how long the presentation is.... I'd say a good 40 minutes plus a few for questions....
40 minutes well spent and you get to have breakfast!
