My lightees are Paint ball Mal. Bday comming soon so I now need to get them some kit. Am clueless

(we used to play with pellet guns, 22's etc

). Anyone on here give me any pointers what to buy and where? Secod hand is maybe better. Need 3 setups so not looking for Rolls Royce, but rather cheap and nasty since I don;t know how long this will last.
Where does one get canisters and can they be refilled? (how?)
Are there any brands to stay away from?
What is considered essential and what is nice to have?
etc.
Thanks

Hey, RV4ker
I'm no pro, but I've been looking at getting into it as quite a few of my friends go out each weekend.
You'll obviously need a marker (the gun), a mask (to prevent you loosing an eye), canister of about 20oz. and pellets. That would be the minimum you could get away with. From there on you can go bananas and get more kitted out than an infantry unit in Iraq, just go look at
http://paintball.co.za/catalog/default.php to see what I mean. There are bargains around on Gumtree and such, but then you should know what you're looking for as there are plenty of rubbish markers that will just give grief (ball busting in barrel etc.). Tippman is a pretty well known and trusted brand in the market, something like this (
http://capetown.gumtree.co.za/c-Stuff-f ... Z225440456 ) would get you going. Just go type 'paintball' into gumtree.co.za . Best of all, find a store nearby and pay them a visit to explain the finer details.
Cheers

Try the Flea Market at the harties 4ways stop(other side of the dam wall).
I think you should know the place.

They have got the biggest range and their prices are the best. Run by enthusiasts, therefore not in it for the money only.
I shopped around quite a bit, and they gave me all the answers to my questions. Bought one loaded with pepper balls to give to the okie staying on my plot when I'm not there. Obviously won't hold up against a 9mm or R5

but at least a bit better than a can of pepper spray.
You're looking at about 1.5 to 2 grand for gun, loader, canister, balls, mask etc. BUT.....
these new guns are serious sh!t.

You can bring your lighties to come and play in our ANNUAL CHARITY PAINTBALL event.
http://www.bugwar.co.za or
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/eve ... 2106823720 for more info. Weekend of paintball in the bush and it is for a good cause. Also have some rentals if you need to defend yourself
You can try Blades and Triggers, they have many oulets in GP. Co2 fills are about R1 per ounce and you should not pay more than R500 for a good 2nd hand set of the not-so-fancy-markers. Also post your request on
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/gro ... 4796669055.
