if that's true, it would certainly help to solve the high traffic on 1248.

Here is a map with the new FAD superimposed on it. It is a large image, but it needs to be otherwise you don't see the details
It includes Paardeberg, Kasteelberg, Riebeeck Kasteel and West, most of Malmesbury east of the N7 and Wintervogel
There is a detailed document on the CAA website at
http://www.caa.co.za/resource%20center/ ... 067-10.pdf
Edited - Morph - Added the current GF FAD200 for reference purposes

Great, now we only have to change frequencies 7 times when flying 40 miles.
So the eastern border is more or less the Berg River, the western border is the old Malmesbury road and the N7 (western border is now part of the eastern border of D200 124.4)
south is the old 2000ft border, and north approximately from Voe"lvlei to south of Moorreesburg
Wintervogel falls within the 124.2 zone
Now listen to the confusion! I will now be scanning 124.8 125.8 124.4 124.2 122.5 and 122.7 119.3 121.3 to figure out who is where (all within 50 mile radius) . Forget about 123.45 - that one is always quiet.
Barry! Help!!!

I thought the FAD154 was enough for a GF (Albeit a bit far from FASH). The FAD69 is a larger area. I just wonder what the rationale was to enlarge the area. I understand why a seperate freq.
We will have to spread the word about the new freq because there will be people out there who don't know or forget. And we don't all get he NOTAMS.

Gert, the new Stellenbosch General Flying Area only comes into effect from 26 August.
The Cape airspace really is getting a bit too complicated these days. So much easier to fly a Boeing where ATC call you when required, and tell you when to change frequency.

Yes sorry, was still on old frequencies, just illustrated the flip would have had 4 changes.
Ah, and I forgot the Ysterplaat frequency needs to be added to the 7 others we have within 50nm (excluding FACT's)

All the frequency changes are a bit crazy. All this just increases the chances of two aircraft being on different frequencies and missing each other's broadcast.
